The South Shore
The south shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feel like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities, local arts, and places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor activities, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.

The home is just a few minutes from the center of Port Wing, which has a coffee shop, gas station/market, and marina. Cornucopia is about 20 minutes away. Bayfield is about 45 minutes away, as is Washburn (where the largest grocery store is in the area). Ashland is about 55 minutes away (which has a natural foods co-op, Wal-Mart, and wider range of shops). Superior & Duluth are an hour and a bit away.
The home is nestled on a 2.5 acre lot that perfectly combines privacy (thanks to the woods at the front of the property) and jaw-dropping lake views from the back of the property (and nearly every room in the house).

The home’s interior is as stunning as the views, furnished by owners with a truly exceptional eye for detail. You’ll fall in love with the quality of every aspect of your stay: from the luxe mattresses & bedding, to the stunning gourmet kitchen, to the artful furnishings & decor.

The home’s heart is its great room which features a wood-burning fireplace on one side and floor-to-ceiling views of the lake on the other. The great room flows right into the formal dining area and the incredible kitchen. You’ll have more than enough space (and all the equipment) for feeding the crew.

Right off the dining area is the home’s deck - perfect for an al fresco glass of wine while enjoying the sights & sounds of the lake.

The main floor also features a four-season porch (which is set up to function as a game room) and a full bathroom.

Upstairs you’ll find the bedrooms: the main bedroom has a sumptuous king bed, small desk/sitting area, and an en suite bath. And, yes, fabulous lake views!

The second bedroom has a queen bed, two twin beds, with a bathroom a short distance away.

Outside of the home you'll find nothing but incredible views of the lake and a special bonus: the custom-built traditional wood-burning sauna!

This property is the perfect romantic getaway spot as well as an ideal place for a family to spend quality time together. The location feels incredibly private and serene, and yet is a very convenient location to explore the rest of the South Shore as well as easily make your way to Duluth & Superior.
Due to the lack of public transportation and the distance between towns/amenities, a car is pretty much essential. But, on the plus side, traffic is not a concept we have up here!
